Give the experiment a question
A prototype is most useful when it tests a specific uncertainty. Decide what you need to learn, the smallest experience that can answer the question and the evidence that would justify further development.
Separate the demonstration from the operating system
A demonstration may use sample data or synthetic input. Describe these boundaries clearly. Before wider use, plan the real integrations, access controls, error handling and operational support the product needs.
Carry learning into the next build
Record feedback and technical findings while they are fresh. Use them to decide what to keep, change or remove. Clear evidence helps the next iteration serve an actual need and gives the team a grounded reason to continue.
